Lady Raider volleyball looks to keep winning record in SAC play

Last week’s five-set thriller over Scotland and subsequent victory over Southern Lee has pushed Richmond (8-8, 4-3) above .500 in conference play.

With those wins, Richmond has jumped from fifth place to third in the SAC standings.

The Lady Raiders will continue the second cycle of SAC play a pair of conference matches this week. Round two of conference play will begin on Wednesday when the Raiders host Southern Lee (4-5, 1-3), also a varsity-only match beginning at 7 p.m.

With this week’s SAC opponents not fielding JV teams, the junior varsity Raiders (2-4-3) will get a chance to take the field when they host Central Academy (1-10) of Monroe, NC on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

On Thursday, the varsity and junior varsity teams will cap their week with non-conference matches from visiting Northwood (varsity 4-6-1, junior varsity 0-4-1) on Thursday. The junior varsity match will begin at 5:15 p.m. and the varsity will follow.

Lady Raider golf to play on Monday

Last week, for the first time this season, sophomore golfer Ella Munn did not have to represent Richmond Senior High School all alone at the SAC match held at Sanford Golf Course. She was joined by fellow sophomore Jacey McRae.

Football teams get ready for homecoming showdowns
