ROCKINGHAM — Ask any of the Richmond Senior High School football players and coaches and they’ll say what a “privilege” it is to be able to practice on Thanksgiving Day.

Not a guarantee this late in the high school football season, the Raider football program took some extra time Thursday to soak in the late November practice.

Richmond and first-year head coach Brad Denson had their final walkthrough, a 90-minute session, ahead of the team’s third playoff game this fall.

No. 4 Richmond gets “another chance” to continue proving others wrong when the team plays its third round NCHSAA 4A East playoff game Friday against No. 5 Rolesville High School.

The Raiders and Rolesville kick off Friday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the gate (cash) or online at GoFan.

Below is a video of Richmond’s players and coaches sharing what they’re thankful for this year, filmed by sports editor Kyle Pillar during Thursday’s practice.
