VIDEO: Raiders test knowledge of program history ahead of state championship

ROCKINGHAM — The countdown is on for the Richmond Raider basketball team, which will play in its fourth 4A state championship in program history this weekend.

An intense focus during the first two days of practice this week have been intertwined with the fun and excitement that comes with the opportunity to chase the state title.

The Richmond Observer caught up with players and coaches at Tuesday’s practice to test their knowledge about Raider basketball history, as well as ask them some questions about this year’s squad.

On Saturday, the Raiders (28-2) will play against Myers Park High School (27-4) in the 4A state championship. The title bout will be played at the Dean E. Smith Center at UNC, starting at 7:30 p.m.
