RICHMOND COUNTY – The month of December has just begun, and the Christmas season in Richmond County is already well underway.  Tremendous trees have been lit, carols have been sung, and Santa has already made a stop by Leath Memorial Library. 

HAMLET – Fitness is a growing trend in today’s society and Richmond County is not immune. Where there only used to be one gym in Hamlet and one gym in Rockingham, there are now multiple locations for one to achieve their fitness goals.

CHARLOTTE – Former Congresswoman Sue Myrick, a Republican who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 until 2013, has endorsed Dr. Mark Harris for the upcoming Republican primary election in May 2018.

HAMLET – The Hamlet Police Department had to focus on a single intersection a bit more so than normal this week. 

ELLERBE – The Ellerbe Fire Department is hoping to get approval for a “new” standard by which charges for its fire abatement services are rendered.

PINEHURST – “Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how lovely are thy branches.”

Thousands of branches have been transformed into lovely masterpieces in preparation for the Sandhills Children’s Center’s 21st Annual Festival of Trees.

HAMLET – Old Fashioned Christmas on Main Street is celebrating its 11th consecutive year in Hamlet, with a few changes from previous years.
