RYP's "Chamber Chase" a Success

RICHMOND COUNTY – In what started as a burst of speed down the Rockingham Dragway, and finished as a final sprint to the front doors of Hudson Brothers, the Richmond Young Processionals’ inaugural Chamber Chase event Thursday night was a success.

ROCKINGHAM -- Richmond County Special Olympics has 105 athletes that will participate in Special Olympics practices and local tournaments this fall, and it needs the community's help.

ELLERBE – Kindergarteners and first graders at Mineral Springs Elementary School are now walking the “Daily Mile,” a new initiative to promote healthy living in schools.  

HAMLET – For local adults looking to stay active this fall, the Richmond Adult Soccer League is back for its fourth season, and is gaining notoriety around the county.

CORDOVA – At 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Richmond County Emergency Services dispatched Cordova Fire Rescue to an outdoor fire at 604 Isom Nichols Road in Cordova.

ROCKINGHAM -- The downtown Rockingham area will be filled with the smoky smells of barbecue and the sounds of music Saturday, September 30, as the First Methodist Church in Rockingham will be hosting the 18th annual Holy Smoke BBQ and Music Festival.
