ROCKINGHAM – Dozens of Richmond County’s First Responders gathered Monday morning and took part in a 9/11 memorial walk to honor those who perished in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

HAMLET –  Week one of National Football League kicked off earlier this month, and the junior and senior leagues of the Richmond County Parks and Recreations are set to start their season in two weeks.

HAMLET – With all the devastation from the recent hurricanes in southeast Texas and the Florida peninsula, two teenagers from Hamlet and one from East Rockingham decided they wanted to make a difference in the lives of those helping the hurricane victims.

HAMLET -- Sometimes it's the little things that mean the most. And for Richmond County Schools, nothing is more important than being able to provide its nearly 800 students with school supplies.

ELLERBE – The Millstone 4-H Camp Advisory Council will be hosting its “Pickin’ in the Pines” fundraising event on Oct. 21, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Rockingham – Saturday afternoon saw a flurry of bean bags flying, but for a good cause.

ROCKINGHAM -- The Rockingham Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying two suspects following two incidents that occurred at Wal-Mart in Rockingham over the last 30 days.

Devastating floods in Texas.  Storm surge and mammoth power outages in Florida. 

Over the past three weeks, America has witnessed catastrophic destruction caused by two major hurricanes.  Like you, I am saddened by the tragic impact and continue to pray for those whose lives have been torn apart.
