Investigators with the Rockingham Police Department confirmed one homicide occurred Thursday, Jan. 14 in the Cauthen Drive area; another happened Saturday afternoon on Palisade Circle in the Rockingham Housing Authority.
Police will not release any more information until Tuesday.
Richmond County Jail records Saturday evening showed no recent arrests that may be related to either homicide.
There were four individuals charged with murder in Richmond County in 2020 and one person was charged with death by distribution.
In the latter case, records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show Regina Danielle Collins was convicted Aug. 6, 2020 of involuntary manslaughter and began serving an active sentence Oct. 7. She is scheduled for release in July.
Gary Wilson Quick, who was charged in the death of Jamie Leigh Burns, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter Oct. 8, 2020 and given a 36-month suspended sentence.
