HAMLET – A request of $2,100 by social studies teacher Brenna Wyatt of Richmond County Ninth Grade Academy was approved by the Lowe’s Small Toolbox for Education grant program in conjunction with the Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation (LCEF).

Wyatt and students will use these funds to start a vegetable garden and buy a greenhouse, in hopes of giving the crops to local families in need.

Wyatt also received $700 from Target. This Target Field Trip Grant will be used to take the AP World History Class and Student Government Associations students to Medieval Times in Myrtle Beach, S.C. This grant will help tremendously by cutting the cost of admission in half for students, and Wyatt says, “the field trip ties into our unit on the Middle Ages.”

Richmond County Schools and RCNGA would like to thank Lowe’s and Target for their support.
