HAMLET — A man is facing drug and stolen weapons charges following an undercover narcotics investigation.

The Hamlet Police Department served a search warrant at 804 Ridge Drive Friday morning, finding 14 grams (nearly a half-ounce) of marijuana, five bongs, baggies and rolling papers, according to court documents.

Investigators also found a stolen Taurus .357 revolver and a Kahr .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun. Detective Capt. Randy Dover said both firearms were reported stolen outside of Richmond County.

Dover said the arrest of 28-year-old Dominique Lamont Hubbard, of the searched residence, was the result of an undercover investigation by Sgt. Chris Lampley.

Hubbard is charged with: two felony counts of possession of stolen firearm; one felony count each of possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; and one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

He was booked into the Richmond County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 15.

The Pilot of Moore County reported Hubbard was arrested on concealed weapons, drug violations and paraphernalia charges by the Aberdeen Police Department in March 2017.

However, online records with the North Carolina Court System and N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show Hubbard has no pending charges or previous convictions in this state.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
