ROCKINGHAM — A man is facing robbery and assault charges from incidents late last month.

According to warrants, 18-year-old Tito Jermaine Ray conspired with “persons unknown” to rob a man of his wallet and approximately $200 on June 29.

Ray is also accused of assaulting and threatening four people that same day.

Warrants allege that he hit two women multiple times with closed fists about the head and face and pushed another.

He is also accused of hitting a man multiple times in the head and face and kicking him in the face and ribs. The victim was reportedly knocked unconscious and received medical attention for a concussion and possible swelling of the brain.

According to warrants, Ray was told not to enter the home where the incident took place.

He also allegedly told the male victim that he would get someone to jump him and told all four that he “has heat for (expletive) like y’all.”

Ray was arrested July 2 and charged with four counts each of assault on a female and communicating threats; one count each of second-degree trespassing and assault inflicting serious injury; common law robbery and felony conspiracy.

Richmond County Jail records show Ray is also charged with a probation violation.

He is currently serving a 24-month suspended sentence after being convicted last September on five counts of felony breaking and entering.

Online court records only show the robbery and conspiracy charges from the Rockingham Police Department; and B&E, larceny, conspiracy and probation violation charges related to a 2018 case from the Division of Community Corrections.

Records show he has a court appearance scheduled for July 15 on the assault charges, July 25 on the robbery charges; and Aug. 5 on the DCC charges.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
