ROCKINGHAM — A Moore County man is facing a felony sex crime charge in Richmond County.

According to a warrant taken out by investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Ulises Aguilar Martinez, of Aberdeen, attempted to take “immoral, improper and indecent liberties” with a child under the age of 16 “for the purpose of arousing and gratifying sexual desire” on Tuesday.

He was arrested and charged with attempted indecent liberties with a child and booked into the Richmond County Jail under a $75,000 secured bond. His court date is set for Aug. 1.

Jail records show he was also served with a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor in Moore County, which carries a $2,000 secured bond.

Online court records show he is scheduled to appear in a Moore County courtroom Aug. 15 to answer charges of driving with a revoked license from an impaired revocation and not having a motorcycle endorsement.

Records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show Martinez was convicted in 2014 of driving with a revoked license in Moore County.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
