The Rockingham Fire Department is selling assorted items as a fundraiser for Engineer Ed Hairfield, who has been with the department for seven years.

The department is selling T-shirts, rubber bracelets and window decals featuring a purple ribbon and the number 7 — Hairfield’s unit number.

Shirts are $25 each and the decals and bracelets are $5 each. All orders are prepay only.

All contributions will go toward Hairfield’s expenses for treatment and travel to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Player stressed that the department will not be soliciting donations by phone.
