ROCKINGHAM — A group comprised mostly of Richmond County elected officials is offering the community a morning meal.

The third annual Community Breakfast is slated for 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at the National Guard Armory on Rockingham Road.

“As the community has so graciously given to us, we would like to take this opportunity to give back,” said Richmond County Clerk of Superior Court Vickie Daniel, who started the breakfast event in 2017.

While the food is free, those who attend are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food bank; or a new, unopened toy that will be donated to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots drive.

Stan and Linda Jacobs will be performing music during the meal.

Other sponsors of the event include District Attorney Reece Saunders, Sheriff James Clemmons, School Board member Bobbie Sue Ormsby, Ken Layton, The Webb Law Firm, state Sen. Tom McInnis, Gene and Donna McLaurin and Bojangles of Rockingham.

“We look forward to seeing you during this season of giving and fellowship,” Daniel said.
