ROCKINGHAM — Richmond County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Travis Bohman was presented by Sheriff James Clemmons with both his Intermediate and Advanced Law Enforcement certificates Friday morning.

The certificates were issued by the N.C. Sheriff’s Training and Standards Commission.

Bohman is a patrol sergeant and one of three K-9 handlers for the sheriff’s office.

The Advanced Certificate is the highest certificate presented to law enforcement officers in North Carolina.

Certificates are awarded based on an officer’s years of experience plus the amount of professional training and education the officer receives.
