RALEIGH — As the July Fourth Holiday approaches, the State Highway Patrol is encouraging motorists to focus on safe driving while traveling to their intended destinations. As traffic is expected to increase throughout the week, troopers will be out in full force monitoring driver behavior.

SMITHFIELD — A nationwide campaign to raise awareness of the ‘Move Over Law’ is underway to coincide with national Peace Officers Memorial Day. Peace Officers Memorial Day pays tribute to local, state, and federal law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. Many of them have been killed alongside state roads due a violation of the "Move Over Law."
