OPINION: It's over. The rest is just second guessing

Well, it’s over. Joe Biden announced the end of the Afghanistan adventure yesterday. It will quickly start fading from Americans’ memories. As one person said on Twitter, Americans barely paid attention when we were there. They will certainly not pay attention when we are gone.

OPINION: They are buried in North Carolina

Buried in Northeastern Cemetery in Rocky Mount, North Carolina is George Foxe (1940-1965). Foxe served in the 7th Calvary in Vietnam; the infamous unit previously commanded by Gen. George Armstrong Custer. If you’ve read the book “We Were Soldiers Once . . . and Young” or seen the Hollywood film, you know a little bit about the ordeal Foxe experienced.

On Jan. 8, U.S. president Donald Trump addressed the American public concerning a casualty-free Iranian missile attack on U.S. bases in Iraq, where just last week Iranian general Qasem Soleimani was killed in a U.S. drone strike.
