Domestic Incident Results in Stabbing Death of Alleged Assailant

ROCKINGHAM – Information received from the Rockingham Police Department in reference to an incident on July 5 at 102 Glenwood Avenue in Rockingham shines more light on the stabbing death of Lacy Morgan, Jr. 

According to an earlier press release, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation. 

A suspect has been questioned but no charges have been filed. The police officer named in the report is J.T. Decello.  

According to the report, a domestic disturbance occurred at the Rockingham address which resulted in a number of assaults by a male subject.

He assaulted two females and two underage males, and also damaged the motor vehicle belonging to one of the female victims.

During the same domestic situation, the male offender (Lacy Morgan Jr.) died from multiple stab wounds to his back that occurred during the fight. 

Christina Nicole Ingram, a 39-year old female, and K’arvonie Denasia Burton, a 19-year old female, were involved in the incident.

There were also a 15-year old male and 13-year old male named in the report. 

More information is forthcoming from the Rockingham Police Department and will be released as it becomes available.
