HAMLET — One local church is planning to illustrate the “reason for the season” for Richmond County residents to view from their vehicles.

 HAMLET — In a patriotic service to celebrate Richmond County's “everyday heroes,” Dr. Allison Farrah, pastor of First Baptist Church, led the congregation and choir to demonstrate appreciation for those who protect and serve the community on Sunday, July 14.

HAMLET — The “Reason for the Season” will be on full display Friday night as First Baptist Church reenacts the birth of Christ.

HAMLET — Pastor Allison Farrah, staff, and members of First Baptist Church welcomed around 500 trunk-or-treaters on Halloween evening.

More than a dozen vehicles were decorated by church members, and a wide assortment of treats were passed out to the hundreds of children and adults as they strolled through the circular driveway. It was evident that much thought and preparation had gone into getting ready for this event, which many people shared that this is their favorite place for getting into the Halloween spirit.

Too often, it may seem that professing Christians are busier doing church than being the church in our communities. Displaying the life of Jesus through his people, loving Jesus and loving others is the mantra that some local youth and their leaders carried in their hearts to Boone, N.C.
