Miss Greater Sampson County, Victoria Huggins, recently became the 80th Miss North Carolina to take the crown. And this past weekend, she granted The Richmond Observer a live interview

Huggins said that growing up in a small town has helped her prepare for the platform as Miss America. The St. Pauls native of Robeson County is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and mass communications. She previously served as a producer and reporter for Carolina in the Morning at WECT in Wilmington, NC.
