HAMLET — Richmond Community College is a local college with a big impact. How big? According to a new economic impact analysis, RichmondCC has an $88.2 million impact on Richmond and Scotland counties, which is equivalent to supporting 1,613 jobs in this region.

LAURINBURG — Representatives from Richmond Community College, Richmond County Schools, Scotland County Schools and local industries convened on RichmondCC’s Scotland County Campus for an annual meeting to discuss solutions for current workforce challenges.

HAMLET — Bridget Norton of Laurinburg received her second college degree from Richmond Community College on Friday. She now has an Associate in Science degree and Associate in Arts degree, which she earned last year. She earned both degrees for free thanks to the RichmondCC Guarantee program.

HAMLET — Last night Richmond Early College High School held its annual Academic Awards Ceremony. This event is used to present scholarships and congratulate students on their academic achievements. 

HAMLET — Lynn McCaskill, chairman of the United Way of Richmond County board, opened the May 11 ceremony at the Richmond Community College amphitheater, saying it was to “celebrate the things our partners are doing for the people in our county every day.”

HAMLET — Richmond Community College held its 45th annual Associate Degree Nursing Pinning Ceremony on May 11 with 35 nursing students being recognized for completing the program. 

HAMLET — Richmond Community College student Nicholas Vue has been named the 2022 Academic Excellence Award winner, which recognizes outstanding academic achievements of students in the N.C. Community College System. 

HAMLET — Two days after Brooke Deegan graduated from Richmond Community College in May 2017, she went to work for Dawkins and Associates Insurance Agency in Rockingham, kicking off her career in accounting.

HAMLET —  First-generation college student Douglas Ferrell is about to start his career as a relay technician with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, a global leader in protective relay systems.

HAMLET — Nursing students at Richmond Community College now have another avenue to pursue higher education without leaving the county.
