ELLERBE – The Millstone 4-H Camp Advisory Council will be hosting its “Pickin’ in the Pines” fundraising event on Oct. 21, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

ROCKINGHAM – As Richmond County is nestled in the heart of the Southern Baptist Bible belt, Freedom Baptist Church in Rockingham, is excited to announce it will be hosting “Fearless,” an annual youth conference.

ROCKINGHAM – Richmond County Schools’ students have successfully completed the first week of the 2017-2018 school year. For some, success meant being prepared for class with needed school supplies.

HOFFMAN – There’s something special about casting a fishing line into a lake and watching the water ripple waiting to hook the next big fish. And luckily for Richmond County’s youth, that opportunity is just around the corner.

New Alco Opening in Hamlet

Hamlet has a new addition that offers fuel for your vehicle as well as your belly. Alco, at the corner of Highway 74 and 177, opened for business on August 18 and the adjoining Dairy Queen opens on Monday, August 28. This dual-purpose enterprise has been 5 months in the making.

Backpack Pals Program is Gearing Up

HAMLET – In a few weeks, Richmond County’s Backpack Pals program will be in full swing. Backpack Pals is a nationally recognized program created to ensure needy students have food to eat over the weekend.
