ELLERBE – Streets in Ellerbe were closed Saturday morning as tractors, antique vehicles, Model T mini cars and horses took over for the 22nd annual Farmer’s Day Parade.

LAURINBURG – It may have been a bit brisk Saturday morning, but that didn’t stop the sound of motorcycles firing up to participate in Smithfield Hog Production’s sixth annual BBQ Cook Off and Motorcycle Run fundraiser for veterans.

ROCKINGHAM – With all the events and activities going on for Veteran’s Day over the weekend, included was one unique and interesting display in Richmond County. Arts Richmond hosted an art exhibit for local veteran artists on Saturday, November 11.

ABLEMARLE, N.C. – Along with the many activities that are offered while visiting Morrow Mountain State Park, on Sunday, November 5, the annual “Old Fashioned Day Festival” took place.

ROCKINGHAM – Children were able to explore the possibilities of a career Saturday, November 4, while enjoying themselves at the same time.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Following the Fall Bocce Games in Rockingham on Wednesday, November 1, Richmond County Special Olympics (RCSO) athletes participated in the State Games in Charlotte, N.C., over the weekend.

HAMLET – The ladies of Spring Hill Wesleyan Church in Hamlet will hold their annual craft fair and bake sale on Saturday, November 11 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

EAST ROCKINGHAM – It was a picture perfect day Wednesday, as the Richmond County Special Olympics (RCSO) held its Fall Bocce Ball Games at East Rockingham Park. With Carolina blue skies and the changing of the leaves in the background, there couldn’t have been a better backdrop.

HAMLET – Despite the closure of Cordova School, two local women helped keep a tradition alive for several youths in the community.

ROCKINGHAM – With all the new eateries opening up in Richmond County, there is one that has been in business for many years.
