HAMLET — Richmond County Schools and Richmond Community College have strengthened their partnership to bring new opportunities for career training to Richmond Senior High School students.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College has been able assist 23 students overcome unforeseen emergencies that might have prevented them from completing their training or coursework. 

 

HAMLET — Richmond Community College has partnered once again with Excelsior College to map out transfer pathways to advanced degrees. RichmondCC graduates of the Associate in Engineering program can now transfer up to 90 credits to Excelsior College to earn a bachelor’s degree in one of two fields, Nuclear Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College will hold orientation for its new Electric Lineman program on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. in the Grimsley Building, room 103, on main campus in Hamlet.

The first ever Electric Lineman class at RichmondCC will begin Nov. 26 with Scott Caulder of Rockingham preparing the next generation of linemen for a safe and successful career in the power distribution industry.

Caulder, who has 27 years of experience in the industry working for Pee Dee Electric, was hired to be the coordinator for the program. Caulder got his lineman training at Nash Community College, so he is looking forward to bringing this type of skills training to his hometown. Along with being the instructor, he will be recruiting students and networking to bring in business partners for the program who can help with supplies and equipment.

 

Hamlet, N.C. (June 14, 2018) – Once again Richmond Community College will be honoring one of its many exceptional graduates with the Outstanding Alumni Award at the College’s Convocation this fall.

Hamlet, N.C. – The Charlotte Symphony returns to the Cole Auditorium in Hamlet for an all-American musical celebration of America’s birthday on June 26 at 7:30 p.m. 

The concert, entitled “Celebrate America,” will mark the symphony’s second appearance at the Cole this year following the largely successful concert “The Musical World of Harry Potter,” which was performed by the symphony in January. This performance will mark the sixth time the Symphony has performed at the Cole.

Hamlet, N.C. (May 29, 2018) – The Alpha Mu Chapter of Alpha Pi Chi National Sorority holds a Cinderella Ball every year, but for the past two years, the young girls who attended the ball have been able to make their own jewelry using 3D printing technology under the guidance of Richmond Community College Mechanical Engineering instructor Annie Harden.

 

   

Hamlet – Richmond Community College welding students were given the opportunity to learn about and experiment working with new technology that is being used in the auto body industry.

 

HAMLET – Eight STEM students in a Drone Academy at Richmond Community College are learning how to legally operate Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (better known as drones) in preparation to earn the certification required to fly drones for commercial purposes. 

      

HAMLET – Richmond Community College student Anna Auman of Hamlet received the 2018 Academic Excellence Award, which recognizes outstanding academic achievements of students in the N.C. Community College System.
