ROCKINGHAM- The City Council on Tuesday adopted a resolution in support of keeping the current ABC system for the sale of liquor in North Carolina.  

ROCKINGHAM — Three police officers were recognized for their life-saving efforts at Tuesday’s city council meeting.

ROCKINGHAM — The chiefs of the city’s fire and police departments on Tuesday presented the City Council with a round of statistics from their respective annual reports.

ROCKINGHAM— “If a book on customer service could be written, the Haigler brothers should definitely be the authors,” said County Manager Bryan Land as he announced the retirement of longtime Richmond County Airport Managers, Doyle and Sam Haigler to the County Commissioners Tuesday evening.  

HAMLET — They came from all walks of life, young students to seasoned employees, looking for new opportunities and career growth.  

They found an array of options available in a healthy and growing job market.

ROCKINGHAM — Things “are going well” at the Place of Grace Campus, the Rev. Gary Richardson told the Richmond County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday.

EAST ROCKINGHAM — If the excitement and participation of students is an indicator of a healthy school, East Rockingham Elementary is on the right track. 

ROCKINGHAM — History repeated itself Tuesday night as residents again came out against a proposal to allow bed and breakfast inns in the Historic District.

 

ROCKINGHAM-  “What do we have to do to get water for area residents?”  

That was the question posed to the Richmond County Board of Commissioners Tuesday night by Preston Waddell, chairman of Wolf Pit precinct No. 4. He said he was speaking on behalf of citizens of that area.  

ROCKINGHAM-  “In just nine weeks with $900 I can get a job making $30,000-40,000?” 

“Yes sir,” said Dr. Dale McInnis, president of Richmond Community College. 

Commissioner Don Bryant posed the question following McInnis’ report to the Richmond County Board of Commissioners Tuesday evening.
