HAMLET — Local law enforcement agencies have a large number of openings for officers, and Richmond Community College has the program to train people to fill those positions.

HAMLET — The family of the late Roger Staley recently established a scholarship in his name at Richmond Community College. 

HAMLET — Richmond Community College held a luncheon on Oct. 29 at the Cole Auditorium for the college’s Work-Based Learning programs. Several companies attended the luncheon to learn about Work-Based Learning in Richmond and Scotland counties.

HAMLET — More than 100 employees at Service Thread will complete customized training through Richmond Community College.  Employees were trained on new machines for the textile manufacturer.

HAMLET —  “Who you gonna call” to go back in time? The Cole Auditorium has called the Southeast’s premier ’80s tribute band Cassette Rewind to perform Friday night to wrap up its fall outdoor concert series “Car”certs at the Cole. 

HAMLET — The Richmond Community College Foundation has completed its tally on the net proceeds raised by its annual clay shoot at DeWitt’s Outdoor Sports shooting range in Ellerbe, and the figures are promising.

HAMLET — Robert Lee Wallace of Rockingham is one of the newest members to join Richmond Community College’s Board of Trustees, bringing with him a special concern for others and a long work history in the area of human services. 

HAMLET — The Axe Handlers are up next on the outdoor stage at the “Car”certs at the Cole this Friday at 6 p.m. 

HAMLET — Southern Christian touring group 2nd Chance Ministries will be making a stop in Hamlet on Thursday to perform at the “Car”certs at the Cole. This special evening of music and ministry will begin at 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Cole Auditorium.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College will offer two General Contractor CEU (continuing education units) classes on Oct. 30 or Nov. 20 on the Hamlet Campus at the Cole Auditorium.
