HAMLET — Percy Crutchfield has been named the new director of Public Safety at Richmond Community College. He comes to RichmondCC with many years of experience in law enforcement. He recently retired in March 2020 after serving as the Chief of Police for the Town of Pittsboro.

HAMLET — Kimani Spruill is proudly wearing her brand new Carolina blue T-shirt, the one she received when she became the first Richmond Community College student to be accepted into the C-STEP co-admission program with the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

HAMLET — More people than ever are working from home under the current “shelter-in-place” mandate that has resulted from the coronavirus pandemic that is sweeping across all borders and oceans. Working from home may safeguard people from the virus, however, it may place them more at risk for cyber attacks on their personal computers and devices.

HAMLET — RichmondCC is rolling out a new plan to help people with limited time complete an associate in arts degree in a convenient format. 

HAMLET— Richmond Community College’s Healthcare Management Technology curriculum is designed to prepare students for employment in healthcare business and financial operations. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the application of management principles to the healthcare environment.

HAMLET — Wade and Beth Dunbar have established a scholarship with the Richmond Community College Foundation in memory of their daughter, Elizabeth Hampton Dunbar, who died suddenly in April 2016 at the age of 19. 

HAMLET — Richmond Community College will host a virtual enrollment forum, “Enroll @RichmondCC Q&A,” on Thursday, April 16, from 1 to 3 p.m. This forum will address enrollment in programs at RichmondCC and provide future students and returning students the opportunity to chat with college experts.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College’s annual Gala raised a record amount of money for student scholarships thanks to the generous support of those who attended the fundraiser on March 7 and other stakeholders.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College art instructor Andrew Prieto and his wife, Rachel, have been using their time sequestered at home to use their talents to help others. The Prietos have made more than 100 masks to help protect people from the spread of the coronavirus.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College’s Nursing Assistant program trains and prepares students to sit for the state exam and become a Certified Nurse Assistant. CNAs provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff.
