HAMLET — Richmond Community College has named a former nursing student and instructor its Outstanding Alumni Award winner for 2019. Dr. Yolanda VanRiel, the interim department chair of Nursing at North Carolina Central University, received recognition for this achievement at the College’s Convocation on Oct. 23. 

HAMLET — Headlining the second show of The Dewitt Performing Arts Series is The Midtown Men. This is your ticket to go back in time and experience the iconic ‘60s all over again. This talented foursome will grace the stage on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the Cole Auditorium located on the main campus of Richmond Community College.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College rolled out its collaborative plan on Tuesday to reduce the number of people in Richmond and Scotland County who do not have an adult high school education. Part of the plan includes up to $1,000 in scholarship money for students who complete the Adult High School Diploma or High School Equivalency program and continue on at RichmondCC for further education or career training.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College recently partnered with six local manufacturing companies to allow students to tour the facilities and connect the concepts they are learning in the classroom to real-world operations.

HAMLET —Richmond Community College will be launching a three-year campaign to reach the 20 percent of the population in Richmond and Scotland County over the age of 25 who do not have a high school education. This high school completion campaign called “Finish for Your Future” will kick off at 10 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Cole Auditorium.

HAMLET — Country music legend John Anderson kicks off the Fidelity Bank Rock ‘N Country series this Friday at the Cole Auditorium located on the Hamlet campus of Richmond Community College. Anderson will bring a rich history of music to the stage with his signature hit “Swingin'," plus others like “Seminole Wind,” “Straight Tequila Night,” “Money In The Bank” and “Black Sheep.”

HAMLET —  During Richmond Community College’s bi-monthly Board of Trustees’ meeting on Oct. 1, there was standing room only as Dr. Dale McInnis, president of the college, introduced new faculty and staff members to the board.

HAMLET — Richmond Community College students will now have the opportunity to participate in the renowned Carolina Student Transfer Excellence Program, known as C-STEP, in order to earn guaranteed admissions to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

HAMLET — Drew Coleman always knew he was good with numbers and math, but it wasn’t until he took his first accounting class at Richmond Community College that it all clicked for him. His career path was clearly in accounting and finance.
