PEMBROKE — The acclaimed exhibit "Visual Voices: Contemporary Chickasaw Art" will make a stop at UNC Pembroke as part of its national tour.

PEMBROKE — August 18, 2020, marks 100 years since the 19th Amendment of the Constitution was ratified, and UNC Pembroke’s Music and History Departments are coming together to tell the tale of the seven-decade fight of the women’s suffrage movement.

Triple Nickles show support for GPAC

PEMBROKE — James Bass (center), executive director of GPAC, accepts a $2,000 check from members of the Fayetteville-Fort Bragg Chapter of the 555th Parachute Infantry Association “Triple Nickles."

The group made a surprise gift to the Givens Performing Arts Center before the Broadway tour production of Bandstand on Jan. 29.

Triple Nickles came out in support of military veterans at the performance. Their generous donation will support arts programming at GPAC.  

PEMBROKE — The Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of "The Color Purple" will visit the Givens Performing Arts Center on March 2 at 7:30 p.m.

UNCP staff recognized for years of service

PEMBROKE — UNC Pembroke recognized 95 employees who collectively have served the university and its students for 1,128 years.

PEMBROKE — The National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine makes its way to the Givens Performing Arts Center on Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. The orchestra’s performance will replace the previously scheduled Siberian State Symphony Orchestra. 

PEMBROKE — Underrepresented minorities hold only 10 percent of faculty positions in colleges and universities across the U.S., according to recent reports. But a new program at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke seeks to increase that number.

PEMBROKE — Since being named N.C. Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green has been touring the state sharing her literary works on college campuses and with community groups.

PEMBROKE — The University of North Carolina at Pembroke has released the Chancellor’s list and Honors list for Fall 2019.
