Advila Black Millikan

ROCKINGHAM — Advila Black Millikan, 94, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Millikan was born May 15, 1924 in Moore County, a daughter of the late Walter and Mamie Ward Black. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church for over 50 years and had retired from Century Curtain Mfg in Pinebluff. She loved flowers and gardening. Many gardens in the area bloom with gifted daylilies from her garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Millikan Jr.

Surviving are her children, Robert A. “Bobby” Millikan III (Rita) of Rockingham and Kay M. Player (Ronnie) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Robbie Player (Bridget) of Rockingham, Brannon Player (Brandi) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Chris Millikan (Chandy) of Rockingham, and Shannon Millikan of Rockingham; eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Monroe of Aberdeen.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with the Rev. Dan Main, the Rev. John Chavis and the Rev. Brenda Kellis officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the Player home, 1299 US Hwy 1 N, Rockingham, N.C.
