HAMLET — Alice Faye Johnson Jenks,79, of Hamlet, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven.
She was born in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Will and Sally Huggins Johnson.
Mrs. Jenks retired from the textile industry.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Richard Jenks; sisters, Thelma Hayes, Gladys Chavis and Sara Weatherford; brothers J.W., Doc and George Johnson; and a grandson, Vernon Franklin Jenks Jr.
A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, March 24, 2021, 2 p.m. at Richmond Co. Memorial Park with the Rev. Mark Bryant officiating. Due to COVID-19, please wear a face covering and continue social distancing.
She is survived by her sons, Vernon Franklin Jenks and wife Jean, Rodney Richard Jenks and wife Shelia, and Forest Dean Jenks and wife Ashlie; grandchildren, Natalia Chavis, Christina Miller, Casey Morgan, Travis and Kevin Jenks, Toni, Matt and Dusty Jenks, Tristen and Jessica Jenks; stepsons, Kenneth Robert Jenks, Donald Gary Jenks; six step-grandchildren and one special step-granddaughter Chandra Milligen; sister, Patricia Clark and Geraldine Jones; many great-grandkids and one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at her home, 341 Battley Dairy Road, Hamlet.
