Alice Tyson Moehler

ROCKINGHAM — Alice Tyson Moehler, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2022 at her home; she was 88.

Alice was born Feb. 7, 1934 in Anson County, the daughter of the late Pearl and Ethel Maner Tyson. 

Alice was a member of St. James Catholic Church, serving in many capacities, as well as an active member of the community. She served 30 years in the Richmond County school system before retiring.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Alfons Moehler; siblings, Pearl Buddy Tyson, Grover Lee Tyson, Marvin L. Tyson, Mattie Easter Gaddy, Harold Ross Tyson and Leo Williams Tyson.

Surviving are children, Alisa Gibson and husband John of Harrisburg, Robert Moehler and wife Kim of Pace, Florida, and Brian Moehler and wife Deana of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren, Meghan Gibson, Jackson Moehler, Erin Gibson, Canton Moehler, Keegan Moehler, Dane Moehler and Grayson Moehler; sisters, Jennie Lee Thomas and Ella Frances Hargett; brother, Robert Franklin Tyson; brother-in-law, Joe Gaddy; sister-in-law, Sister Gerda Moehler; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private graveside service will be conducted Monday, March 7, 2022 at Richmond County Memorial Park.
