Annie Locklear

HAMLET — Mrs. Annie Locklear, 82, of Hamlet, passed away Aug. 26, 2021 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 22, 1939 in Draper Country; a daughter of the late Homer B. and Sarah Tyner Underwood.

Mrs. Locklear, in her earlier years, worked in textile mills as a winder, and later on she went back to school to become a CNA. Mrs. Locklear loved tending to her garden, cooking for her family, rock painting and crafting, meeting new people, and being a help to everyone. Mrs. Locklear always enjoyed sharing her rocks and crafts with others. But most importantly she loved the Lord. 

She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Locklear.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Locklear Cemetery on Old Stage Road, Gibson, with the Rev. Terry Jordan officiating.

Surviving, her husband, Henry W. Locklear of Hamlet; children, Sarah and husband Kenneth Brigman, Henry Lewis Locklear (aka Cookie), Kimberly Auman and Kane Locklear; grandchildren, Ashtin Auman, Ariana Auman, Charity Amber Locklear, Travis Locklear and Valance Locklear; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Auman, Kenzleigh McDaniel, Ralynn Amen, Kamden Duff, Treaston Locklear, Cassamdra Locklear, Dylan Locklear, Kallum Winston DeLuca, Lyndzie Naude and Grayson Clevinger. 

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet prior to the graveside service.
