Archie Amos Jackson Jr.

LILESVILLE — On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Mr. Archie Amos Jackson Jr., 77, passed away peacefully at his home.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2022, in the chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Tice officiating. Interment with military honors followed in Anson Memorial Park

The family greeted friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Archie was born July 16, 1944 in Richmond County, and was the son of the late Archie Amos Jackson and the late Myrtle Mae Meacham Jackson. He was a graduate of Rohanen High School in Rockingham and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He had worked for Suburban Propane and Hightower Ice and Fuel. He later retired from Servco as store manager.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Melissa Lucas (Nick), Melinda Garris (Shaun) and Tim Helms, all of Lilesville and David Helms (Jessica) of Marshville; his grandchildren, Kenneth, Cameron, Tracy, Patrick, Cole, Brandon, Tyler, Katelyn, Braylon, Jeremy, Jacob, Jason, Jesse, Dawson and James Colby; his great-granddaughter, Harper; and his sisters, Shelba Boone (T.F.) and Elaine Lear, both of Wadesboro.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracey Nicole Jackson.

Archie was very proud to have served his country in the Air Force and the family suggests any memorials be made to the veteran’s service organization of the donor’s choice.
