ROCKINGHAM — Mrs. Barbara Quick Gibson, 84, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2022.
She was born Nov. 4, 1937 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late John and Laura Stewart Quick.
Mrs. Gibson worked in textiles and spent many years with Fruit of the Loom and Gilead Manufacturing. Following her time there, she worked at L. J. Bell Elementary School. Mrs. Gibson loved to cook and enjoyed helping others.
Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 at Watson–King Funeral Home in Rockingham. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home at 1034 Oak Ave., Rockingham, Friday from 5 from 8 p.m.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by a daughter, Ann Rishel and husband David of Rockingham; a grandchild, Melinda Kay Rishel and partner William Watkins; great-grandchildren, Michaela Zamarripa, Malyiah Watkins, William Watkins Jr., and Makiyah Watkins; a sister, Linda Meyer of Aurora, Indiana; and a brother, Danny Griggs of Pennsylvania; and nieces and nephew, Linda Kay Cultice, Shirley Ann Probst and Junior Miller.
