ROCKINGHAM — Barbara Sue Smith McLean, 82, of Rockingham passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021.
She was born Dec. 2, 1938 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Murphy and Mattie Horne Smith.
Barbara retired from the N.C. State Agricultural Extension of Richmond County and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel R. “Danny” McLean, on Nov. 28, 2019.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Richmond Co. Memorial Park with the Rev. Carl Moree officiating. Please wear a face mask and continue social distancing.
Surviving, her children, Jimmy McLean and wife Freida of Rockingham, Lisa McLean Grooms and husband Harold of Laurinburg, and Jeremy Brandon McLean and wife Christina of Ohio; grandchildren, Haley Grooms, Meredith McLean and Alex McLean; sisters, Doris Wright of Hamlet and Maxine Kelly of Rose Hill.
Their will be a public viewing without the family present on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 1-4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
