HAMLET — Barbara Upchurch Gregory, 80, of Hamlet, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Gregory was born May 22, 1941 in Harnett County, daughter of the late Otha Upchurch and Hazel Partin.
She attended Springhill Wesleyan Church and loved the Lord. Cooking, baking sweets especially, and sewing and being crafty were some of favorite things to do. She loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She also loved her Davita family, where she had dialysis for several years.
Mrs. Gregory was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donnie Leroy Gregory Sr.; and granddaughter, Danielle Stogner.
She is survived by her sons, Donnie Gregory Jr. (Patricia) of Sanford, and Paul Gregory (Kathy) of Hamlet; daughter, Crystal Stogner (Stanley) of Elkin; grandchildren, Ashley Stogner (Rebecca), Maegan Gregory (Jason), Katy McCrimmon (Matt), Donna Haigler (Dustin), and Christopher Gregory; and great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Layton, Casey, Brianna, Emma, Diego, Iliana, and Sofia.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Springhill Wesleyan Church, with Preacher Wayne Gathings and Pastor Stanley Stogner officiating.
