HAMLET — Mrs. Bernice Cobler Bourgeois, 91, of 294 Boyd Lake Road, Hamlet, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond.
She was born in Surry County, March 23, 1928, daughter of James Aldie Cobler and Bessie Belton Cobler.
She was a member of Place of Grace and previously worked in textiles.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 8, 2019 at Harrington Funeral Home from 1-2 p.m.
The funeral will begin in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Pastor Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park, Rockingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Danny Bourgeois; sons, Mark Poplin and Roger Dale Young; daughter, Brenda Kay Young; brothers, Jr., Ray, Jack, Thomas and Jerry Cobbler; and sisters, Bennie Hill and Shirley Carlyes.
Survivors, daughters, Linda Ann Crosby of Albemarle, Faye Bennett of Hamlet and Bridgette Poplin of Aberdeen; sons, Donnie Cobler of Ellerbe and Frankie Young of the home; brother, Jimmy Cobler of Rockingham; and sisters, Nancy Hayes of Cordova, Barbara Richardson of Rockingham and Louise Bell of Georgia; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
