Betty Jo England Plummer

ROCKINGHAM — Betty Jo England Plummer, 72, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

She was born in Shelby on April 20, 1949, daughter of the late Walter Cleo England and Geneva Carroll England.

Mrs. Plummer was a beautician with Irene’s Beauty Shop in Hamlet for many years. Cooking was a favorite pastime for her, especially making homemade biscuits for her family. She loved her family dearly, especially her granddaughter and great- grandchildren. Betty loved the Lord with all her heart and is now rejoicing with her Lord in heaven. Her great-granddaughter, Clarissa, says she is now their angel. She most recently attended Outreach for Jesus.  

Mrs. Plummer was predeceased by her husband, Jim Plummer; brother, Woody England; and sister, Frieda Graham.

She is survived by her children, Vickie Butler and Timothy Butler (Frankie), all of Rockingham; granddaughter, Ashley Covington; and great-grandchildren, Noah and Clarissa; and sister, Karen Zachary of Hamlet.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Richmond Memorial Park, with Pastor Marvin Taylor officiating. Entombment will follow after the service.

At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, 515 Steele St., Apt. C22, Rockingham.
