ROCKINGHAM — Billy Jack Hunt, 43, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021 at his residence.
He was born in Richmond County, son of Garfield Hunt and Sandra White Hopkins.
Billy was a landscaper and had worked at Twin Peaks Golf Course and was a member of Place of Grace.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Sandra White Hopkins; and his brother, Michael Weatherford.
Survivors include his dad, David Hopkins of Rockingham; son, Jeremy Hunt of Pennsylvania; brother, Christopher Hopkins of Sanford; and sisters, Salenea King and Marie Hopkins, both of Rockingham.
The family will be having a memorial service at a later date.
Last week Billy made this statement, “When I leave this world, I’m going to enter the gates crying and singing Jesus’ name as I hold my mother.”
