ROCKINGHAM — On Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, Mr. Boyd Noel Johnson, 60, went to be with his Lord while a patient at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, at Cordova Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at the church.
Boyd was born Dec. 2, 1961, in Floyd County, Georgia, and was a son of the late C.M. Johnson and the late Patsy Ruth Earwood Johnson.
He was a long-time member of Cordova Baptist Church and was employed with Burlington Industries with 42 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lloyd Joel Johnson, who was his twin, and John Johnson.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Josh Johnson and wife, Megan of Rockingham and Maridith Swails and husband, Justin of Hamlet; his grandchildren, Dallas Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Maverick Swails and Aiden Swails; his sister and brother, Cynthia Taylor and husband, Gordon of Rockingham and Jeff Johnson and wife, Shelia of Cordova; his sister-in-law, Shelby Johnson of Cordova; his nieces and nephews, Brennan Johnson, Shannon Alexander, John Carter Johnson, Kristy Johnson, Joni Johnson, Robbie Taylor, and Stephen Taylor and their families.
Boyd enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed dirt bikes, loud and fast cars, and late-night lawnmower races with his son and grandchildren.
