ROCKINGHAM — Brenda Prevatte Dennis,76, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2021 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven.
She was born Sept. 16, 1945 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late William LeRoy and Macie Woods Prevatte.
Mrs. Dennis was a member of Roberdel Baptist Church. She retired from the Richmond County Daily Journal. Then she joined the staff at Richmond Co. Memorial Park for several years. She also worked at H&R Block for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Roberdel Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Childers and the Rev. Jason Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park with the Rev. Mike Childers and the Rev. Robby Stewart officiating.
Surviving, a son, Billy Dennis and wife Sandy of Rockingham; grandchildren, Heather Jones and husband Calvin of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and William Dennis and wife Tiffany of Forest City; sisters, Dolores Adame and husband Rey of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Candace Everett and husband Jerry of Rockingham; a brother, Rick Prevatte and wife Diane of Hamlet.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
