On Feb. 12, 2022, Cathy Deane McFadden Long transitioned to her heavenly home from FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Moore County. She was surrounded by love and her devoted son.
For over 20 years Cathy dedicated her life to the city of Hamlet, working as the Accounting Department manager for Sandhills Regional Medical Center. She never met a stranger! She was adored and loved by so many because of her kind spirit and infectious smile.
Cathy is survived by her only son, the light of her life, Travis Wayne Long; a sister, Linda Poplin; and a brother, Charles McFadden. She is also survived by five nieces and nephews she loved very dearly, Connie Quick, Ashley Dunn, Priscilla Whittington, Michael McFadden and Ron Whittington Jr. She also had three great-nieces and -nephews.
The memorial service will be held at a later date for family and close friends.

An open invitation for receiving visitors will be at her son Travis Long’s home, at 1121 South Long Drive in Rockingham.
