Christopher Burns

PINEBLUFF — Christopher Earl Burns, 57, a longtime Hamlet resident, passed away at his home in Pinebluff on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019.

Born in Hamlet, July 21, 1961, he was the son of the late Earl and Sylvia Reese Burns. Chris was a graduate of Richmond Senior High School, class of 1979. He had studied architectural engineering at Sandhills Community College in Moore County and also studied criminology at Richmond Community College. Chris had worked for INA Bearing, Co. as an engineer where he earned the position of chief engineer. He went on to work for the Hamlet Housing Authority. Chris had a lot of respect for the men and women serving in the military and had been a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Chris is survived by his sister, Janet Beck, husband Johnny, of Pinebluff. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles including Patty and Ronnie McLaurin of Pinehurst. He leaves behind several cousins and his faithful four-legged companions Molly and Maggie.

The family will receive friends at the home on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 12–2 p.m.
