Clara Bell Pugh

ROCKINGHAM — Clara Bell (Harrelson) Pugh, 89, passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 5, 2020 at Richmond Pines Healthcare where she had resided for a number of years.

She was born Jan. 8, 1931, the daughter of the late Lewis C. and Katie Blackburn Harrelson of Robeson County. She was a former resident of Safie Sixth Street in Rockingham.

Her primary career in earlier years had been in textiles. She then became a caregiver for others as long as her health permitted. She had a great love for her family and was known for her cooking abilities and serving some wonderful family meals. She also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, and she liked animals.

She is survived by one son, Wayne Corder and wife, Colleen, of Rockingham; one brother, L. C. Harrelson (Sue) of Colorado Springs, Colorado.; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Shelton; a son, Frankie Pugh; two brothers, Bill and Carl Harrelson; and one sister, Dot Martin.

Graveside services will be conducted at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9.
