LAUREL HILL — Daniel Cameron “Danny” Byrd, 70, of Laurel Hill, passed away Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, at Hospice Haven.
He was born in Hamlet, Aug. 11, 1951, son of Michael Vaughn Byrd II and Bernice Nye Byrd.
Danny was an engineer with CSX for 34 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler, fishing, hunting, and gardening; he was an avid outdoorsman. He also enjoyed gathering with his friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021 at Harrington Funeral Home from 1-2 p.m.
A memorial service will begin in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bill Monroe officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Jackson Byrd of the home; brother-in-law, William Billingsley of Laurel Hill; sister-in-law, Velma J. Aaron of Rockingham; nephews, Derrick Billingsley of Hamlet and Matthew Billingsley of Rockingham; best friends, Roger Stewart, Dale Spencer, Jim Young, Armond Waters, Randy Walker, Tony Weatherford and James Aaron.
