JACKSONVILLE — David Lawrence Capps, 94  of Jacksonville, and formerly of Hamlet, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

He was born on Oct. 19, 1925 in Richmond County, a son of the late Lynn and Lizzie Jernigan Capps.

He was a World War II Army veteran and retired from LOF in Laurinburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Capps.

He is survived by his daughter Brandy Capps White and son-in-law Tyson Carver White; sister Johnsie Elizabeth Broadway; grandchildren, Carson Maddox Allsbrook, Davidson Marsh Allsbrook, Keira Elise White; a step-daughter, Valorie McCoy; nephew, Henry Reed Davis; great-niece Megan D. Gorden; great-nephew Gary L. Hogan Jr.; sister-in-law Jean Capps; and nephews Lee Capps, Robin Capps, and Terry Jr. Capps.

The family will have a private service.
