ROCKINGHAM — David Robert Carpenter, 65, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2020 at his home.
Mr. Carpenter was born Dec. 25, 1954 in Richmond County, a son of the late Alfred Pinkney and Elsie Mae Carpenter. He was a mechanic and had retired from the City of Rockingham.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Ann Carpenter; grandson, Garon Wayne Benson; brother, Haywood Carpenter; and sister, Verlene Parker.
Surviving are his son, David Robert Carpenter Jr. (Mandy); and brothers, Alfred Carpenter, Johnny Carpenter and James Carpenter.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Carpenter officiating.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the home.
