ROCKINGHAM — Deborah Ruth Harris Rivers, 64, of Rockingham, departed this life on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021.
Mrs. Rivers was born Oct. 27, 1956 in Union County, a daughter of the late Robert Elmer Harris and Regis Duncan Harris Hammonds.
She attended Union County Schools and was a homemaker.
Surviving are her children, Roy Robert Locklear (Amy), Joshua Fearal Locklear, Tonya Kay Burgess (Michael); grandchildren, Tyler Locklear, Paige Locklear, Coray Griffin, Brittany Totton, Chasity Totton, Pamela Green, Joshua Locklear Jr., Ginsey Locklear; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas G. Harris; sisters, Cynthia H. Stegall, Pamela H. Wofford, Daphne H. Hall: step-siblings, Larry F. Price, Arnold D. Price, Diane P. Richardson; and former husband and caregiver, Roy Locklear.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
The family will see friends following the service.
