HAMLET — Demetra Altman Roberts, 70, of Hamlet, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
She was born Aug. 14, 1949 in Johnsonville, South Carolina, daughter of Roland Altman and Lucille Poston Altman.
Mrs. Roberts was a member of Second Baptist Church, Hamlet and a former LPN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Franklin Roberts; and a brother, R.L. Altman.
Survivors include her children, Heather Staskel (Ron) of Mooresville and Jason Roberts of Hamlet; brothers, Dexter Altman of Rockingham, O.W. Altman of Hamlet and Jimmy Altman of Southport; sisters, Judy Hair of Hamlet, Ava Gentry and Linda McIntyre, both of Southport; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 3 p.m. at the home of her brother and his wife, 202 N. Randolph St., Rockingham.
Harrington Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
