HAMLET — Diane Malloy Buchanan, 66, of Hamlet, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Edvert and Nellie Norton Malloy.
She retired from American Cleaners.
She was preceded in death by her children, John Buchanan, Lee Buchanan, Brandon Buchanan and Shannon Buchanan; brothers, James Malloy and Charles Malloy; and a sister, Linda Malloy.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Rockingham with the Rev. Marvin Hutchinson officiating.
Surviving, her husband, Stephen Buchanan II of Wallace; two sons, Stephen Buchanan and wife Sonja of Hamlet, and Jamie Buchanan of Hamlet; brother, Dean Malloy of Hamlet; grandchildren, John Buchanan, Tyler Buchanan, Rebecca Buchanan, Landon Buchanan, J.R. Rushing and Paige Rushing; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
